Men and Breast Cancer

Breast cancer doesn’t just happen to women. Men can get it too. In fact, about 2,200 men in the United States will develop breast cancer in 2011, according to the American Cancer Society, and about 450 will die from it. The American Cancer Society also says the “lifetime risk” that a man will develop breast cancer is one in 1,000. Men should be aware of the possible risk of breast cancer and should see a doctor if they develop a lump in a breast.
